When your medic's humor is the best medicine

You know you’re in the thick of it when your unit’s medic starts cracking jokes during a serious briefing. I remember one time, right before a training flight, he said, ‘Don’t worry, folks, if we go down, just look for me at the bottom of the ‘remove before flight’ sign!’ It’s those little moments that keep morale up in the face of stress. How do you all cope with serious situations using humor?

Totally agree! I remember our medic saying during drills, ‘If you see me running away, don’t follow, I’m probably just fetching snacks!’ :joy: Those jokes really lighten the mood.

It’s amazing how humor can be a lifesaver in those moments. Our medic once quipped, ‘If you hear the sound of a helicopter, don’t worry; I’m just practicing my landings!’ Finding laughs in chaos really helps keep the team grounded. What’s your medic’s best one-liner?
